The Tyan Thunder HX FT77DB7109 B7109F77DV10E4HR-8X-2T-F supports a two-socket configuration in a 4U rack. Dual Intel Xeon Scalable processors, along with up to eight high-performance GPU slots provide a highly capable platform for machine learning, AI, video and graphic processing tasks, not to mention ridiculously parallel workloads and compute-intensive applications.
Dual Intel Xeon Scalable processors deliver the processing power on this system along with up to eight high-performance GPUs. With 14 hot-swap drive bays the system has plenty of storage ensuring flexibility for a growing business.
One or two Intel Xeon Scalable processors up to 205W are supported by Intel’s C621 chipset. Each processor supports four to 26 cores, six memory channels, and 48 PCIe 3.0 lanes. Depending on your choice of CPU, maximum memory is 765GB or up to 1.5TB using Intel Xeon Scalable processors with an “M” suffix.
The Tyan FT77DB7109 B7109F77DV10E4HR-8X-2T-F server, much like other modern servers supports SATA and SAS HDDs, SSDs and plus U.2 NVMe storage devices. The system supports up to 14 SAS or SATA HDDs and SSDs. With a U.2 drive configuration, ten of the drive bay slots are reserved for HDDs or SSDs while the other four can be fitted with U.2 NVMe drives. The system supports both 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch drive configurations.
Each processor supports 12 DDR4 DIMM slots for 24 active DIMM slots total in a two-processor configuration. With this configuration there are two memory module slots per channel. DDR4 memory ensures the best performance on your system and you can choose from LRDIMMs, plus 3DS RDIMMs and LRDIMMs for the highest memory capacity. The maximum memory configuration for the RDIMM option is 786GB while the LRDIMM is 1. The 3DS RDIMM/LRDIMM memory modules come in at a whopping 3TB when paired with an appropriate processor.
There are nine PCIe Gen3 x16 slots total on the motherboard. Up to eight double-wide high-performance GeForce RTX 2080 Ti GPUs can be installed. The system also features two 10GbE ports one of which is reserved for the IPMI management module. Faster network access up to 100GbE is available through PCIe-based Network Interface Cards (NIC), like the Mellanox CX455A. In addition, the system is configured with two USB 3.0 ports located on the front of the system.
The Onboard Aspeed AST2500 chipset provides server management solutions with an Intelligent Platform Management Interface 2.0 (IPMI). One of the RJ-45 ports provides access to the IPMI module for remote and at chassis management of the system. On the front of the system a bank of LED lights show the health of the server including the LAN ports and storage.
