In addition to the 12x 3.5inch storage bays, the Tyan Thunder SX TN76B7102 B7102T76V12HR-2T-N2 server also supports dual M.2 storage devices and general-purpose graphics processing units (GPGPU) for support of graphics intensive workloads. This is a very flexible platform that can be configured to support a number of different workloads.

Performance

The dual LGA3647 socket supports a maximum of two Intel Xeon Scalable processors up to 165W. Each processor supports 6x memory channels and with 2x DIMM modules per channel, and 24x active DIMM slots in a two-processor configuration. Power is provided by 1+1 redundant 1,200W 80-PLUS Platinum PSUs.

Storage

12x front 3.5-inch hot-swap storage bays on the Tyan TN76B7102 B7102T76V12HR-2T-N2 server can be outfitted with either 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SSDs or HDDs. The system supports SATA drives natively at 6Gb/s. If you plan on installing SAS drives you will need a discrete HD/RAID controller.

Memory

With memory at full capacity, the system is capable of supporting up to 3TB of 3DSregistered (RDIMM) or load reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules. Using standard RDIMM memory modules the system will support up to 768GB or up to 1.5TB when using LRDIMM modules.

In additional to a generous allocation of 8x PCIe x8 slots or 4x PCIe x16 slots, this system also supports a dedicated slot for a dual socket 100G Omni-Path card connecting directly to the CPU through the PCIe lanes for extreme I/O bandwidth. The Tyan B7102T76V12HR-2T-N2 server can also be configured with either two full-size NVIDIA Tesla GPUs or up to 4x single width NVIDIA T4 GPU cards offering an exceptional virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) for a highly distributed environment. This system is also NGC (NVIDIA GPU Cloud) validated for use in deep learning and scientific computing.

Management

Featuring an AST2500 base management controller (BMC) this system is designed for use with open-source software and interaction with other third-party vendor hardware. It’s also Redfish API compatible for at-chassis and remote management of the system.
